MJF Foundation

The MJF Foundation became active when Merril J.Fernando, as a young man aged 20 in the 1950s, decided to include the environment as one of the stakeholders of his business. Upon this underpinning, he pursued the idea of a business that would help reinstate the fortunes of his county's ailing tea industry, and millions of its direct dependents, whilst sharing the benefits of that business with the community.

As it represents a genuinely sustainable and fair way of doing business, The MJF Charitable foundation is much more than a charity, or a CSR Strategy, but a core feature of the business objectives. At least 100,000 underprivileged Sri Lankans were benefited either directly or indirectly by this foundation in 2013.
