Motivation to Lose Weight

Achieving success in weight loss needs to start from within, manifesting huge and powerful thoughts that have an influence on your actions, which in turn controls the outcome.

Luckily, a person only has to concentrate on one area of that: creating the thoughts, and by using the power of the mind, they convince the subconscious those thoughts are as real as everyday life. Once a person has accomplished that, the rest will inevitably follow.

So how do you harness the power of your mind to be able to conjure such dominant thoughts?

Dream Big

Who says day-dreaming is a waste of time? Whatever you want in life, it is suggested that a person must dream it and make it so huge and life-like, that the mind starts to believe it is reality, and in turn will attract events in your life to help achieve that reality.

So to have that slimmer figure you have to bring it to life, but it takes much more than 'thinking' of a slim physique - you have to build a life around it. You have to become so passionate about that desired body, know every detail and become excited and convinced that when you imagine that person looking at themselves in a mirror, it is you who is looking back.

Do your research; search for images that you aspire to and 'shop' for fantastic clothes that you would love to wear and include those outfits in your dreams. Look at various places you would like to go, download photographs of them so you can take in every detail and they can be the backdrop for your dreams. What you are doing is creating a life for your goal and the more detail you include and the more information you have and can draw on will serve to concrete your mind's reason to make it real. Then every night, fall asleep thinking about the scenarios you have mapped out, the clothes you are wearing and imagine yourself doing the things you've always wanted to do.

The Law of Attraction

When you think about something constantly, and give that subject depth and a sense of reality, your mind will start to accept it. This will then trigger what's called the law of attraction which simply means you attract 'like for like'.

Little things will begin to happen e.g. you will stop having that favourite chocolate bar you always have with afternoon tea and not even realise you're not having it anymore. Or opportunities will come along like you bump into a friend you haven't seen in ages and she comments on how she is wanting to get back into exercising and wants a companion. These are what are called 'coincidences' from the Universe.

But there are other things you can do to help keep your motivation at its best:

  • Make a list of all of the reasons why you want to lose weight, try and get as many as you can, including everything you can do when you are at your target weight, and keep adding to it.

  • Make a catalogue of your success; take a photograph of yourself in the mirror once a week in the same outfit so you can see the weight coming off.

  • Read other people's success stories, especially ones that started out at the same weight as you, it gives you confidence that if they did it, then you can too.

But most of all don't put off life until you have lost the weight, remember to enjoy every single day and appreciate everything around you, because today is a day you will never get back again.
